Since joining the 1Let team on 31st March, Caitlin has hit the ground running—and we mean sprinting. With 7 years of property management experience as a building factor already under her belt, she's no stranger to the world of problem-solving, juggling competing priorities, and getting things done. But now, she’s bringing all that expertise to the letting side of the sector… and loving the pace!
So, who is Caitlin? Think collaborative energy, calm under pressure, and someone who somehow finds time to plan camping trips for a pack of Girl Guides between solving cryptic crossword clues and tackling maintenance issues. (We’re still trying to work out how she does it all—and still finds time to read.)
Property, People, and Puzzles
Caitlin says her interest in property management came from a love of puzzles and people. “I love a puzzle and I love a chat,” she told us. That tracks—she's already proven herself as someone who sees challenges as opportunities and enjoys untangling tricky situations to help tenants feel happier and more comfortable in their homes.
One of the biggest surprises since switching from managing common property to lettings? “How quickly seemingly difficult problems can be solved,” she said. “I'm used to having to gather input from many owners and working out what the most balanced solution is, so I’ve really enjoyed working with landlords to arrange the exact works they want to go ahead, with a lot less hold-ups!”
Three Words to Describe Her Job?
“Busy, challenging, collaborative.” We’d say that’s spot on.
When She's Not at Work…
Caitlin keeps just as busy outside the office. She helps run a Girl Guide unit, where she gets to combine her love of planning with the joy of watching kids make friends, learn new skills, and roast a marshmallow or two. “It’s a bit corny,” she admits, “but watching them enjoy themselves is the best part.”
She’s also a committed bookworm, especially if there’s a mystery or a twist involved. Current read: The Bee Sting (which she recommends!). And if there's a cryptic crossword around, you’ll find Caitlin determinedly puzzling it out—especially if she can beat her partner Lewis to the answer.
Wanderlust Warning 🚨
Ask Caitlin about her dream holiday, and it’s clear she’s got a serious case of travel fever. Her bucket list is long, and right now she’s dreaming about going on Race Across the World to discover new places on the fly. We wouldn’t be surprised if she signs up one day!
