At 1Let we pride ourselves in leading the way in property marketing and we are always on the look out for new and innovative methods to stay ahead of the competition.

The pandemic has accelerated the way in which we all use technology and one of the few good things that has emerged from this terrible event is that people are more willing than ever to adapt to the benefits that technology can bring.

Last year we were quick and ready to implement virtual viewings, which are high quality videos of properties, used as an alternative to the traditional way of viewing in person.  We have no doubt, that virtual viewings are now here to stay and this type of technology provides us with yet another aspect to our already strong focus on customer engagement.

QR (Quick Response) codes are the newest addition to 1Let advertising exposure and our marketing strategy.

  • What is the QR code and how does it work?

QR codes are a type of matrix barcode (or two-dimensional barcode) and the information encoded can be made up of any kind of data.

Often, using QR codes is quicker than manually typing in a long web address into a smartphone, and their ease of use can be the difference between getting a lead or not getting a lead.

Created by Toyota in 1994 to track vehicles during the manufacturing process, QR Codes have been around for over two decades.  They seem to be everywhere now. From posters at venues across the UK (Test and Trace app) to online banking. They made their comeback in the most unlikely way, as the pandemic hit and companies like 1Let realised their potential.

You will now see them underneath each of our ‘To let boards’. Would be Tenants can instantly access all the online details of the property they are interested in, simply by scanning a QR code with their smartphone.  Once scanned, the QR code links the user to the property advert with photographs, videos, a detailed description of the property, street view, floorplan and EPC.  Viewers can then continue to book a viewing through their smartphone, leave us a message or send the advert to a friend.
